About EEA
Equity Enrichment Alliance (EEA) is a Connecticut-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on expanding educational opportunity and personal development for minority children and underserved youth. Our work supports young people directly while also helping educators, schools and communities build environments where students can thrive.
Our mission is to help create a future where underserved youth have access to equitable educational opportunities and the tools they need to thrive. We work to reduce barriers that can limit educational and personal development while strengthening confidence, resilience, leadership and connection.
EEA primarily serves minority children and underserved youth, along with the educators, schools and community organizations that support them. Specific audiences may vary by program, workshop or event.
EEA is based in Connecticut. Our current mailing address is 36 Russ Street, Suite 539, Hartford, CT 06106.
Youth Programs
Our youth-focused work includes experiences centered on emotional intelligence and mindfulness, conflict resolution and peer mediation, social justice and advocacy, mentorship, leadership and personal development. Programs are designed to give young people practical skills they can use in school, relationships and their communities.
Students explore skills such as self-awareness, empathy, emotional regulation and stress management. The goal is to help young people better understand themselves, navigate challenging situations and build healthier relationships.
These experiences help students develop constructive ways to communicate, manage disagreements and resolve conflict. They can also support a more inclusive school culture by giving students tools to address problems without escalating them.
Yes. Schools and community organizations interested in bringing EEA programming to their students can contact us to discuss their needs, audience and goals. We can then determine which existing program or type of engagement may be appropriate.
Educators & Schools
Yes. EEA works with educators and schools through training and professional learning designed to strengthen inclusive, responsive learning environments.
Areas of focus include culturally responsive teaching, trauma-informed practices, implicit and explicit bias awareness, restorative justice and related approaches that help educators better understand and support the students they serve.
Within EEA's educator work, culturally responsive teaching focuses on strategies that recognize and respect students' cultural backgrounds and experiences and considers how those experiences can inform learning, engagement and classroom relationships.
EEA's trauma-informed training helps educators consider how trauma can affect students and explores practices for creating learning environments that are supportive, responsive and mindful of those experiences.
Schools and organizations can contact EEA to discuss professional development needs. Because every community is different, the best starting point is a conversation about your audience, priorities and desired outcomes.
G.E.M.
G.E.M. stands for Generationally Enhancing Males of Color. It is one of EEA's signature initiatives.
The G.E.M. Conference is a transformative event for young men of color that brings together workshops, guest speakers and mentorship. The experience is designed to encourage participants to build confidence, see new possibilities and dream beyond limits.
G.E.M. is designed for young men of color. Participation details, age or grade ranges, registration requirements and event availability may vary by conference, so families, schools and organizations should review the information published for the specific event.
EEA collaborates with schools, higher-education institutions and community partners to create meaningful experiences for young people. Organizations interested in supporting, hosting or participating in a future G.E.M. experience are encouraged to contact EEA.
Partnerships
EEA works with schools, colleges and universities, community organizations and other groups whose work aligns with educational opportunity, youth development and stronger communities.
A partnership might involve youth programming, an educator workshop, an event, mentorship, community engagement or another collaborative initiative. The structure depends on the needs of the community and the goals shared by EEA and the partner organization.
Use the contact form or email info@equityea.org. Include your organization, who you hope to serve, what you are interested in and any relevant timing. That gives the EEA team a useful starting point for the conversation.

Support can take many forms, including donating, partnering with EEA, helping connect programs with schools or community organizations, participating in events and sharing EEA's work with people who may benefit from it.
