Sean T. Allen, SR
Sean Thomas Allen Sr., the 2024 100 Men of Color Valedictorian, is a passionate entrepreneur, advocate, and professional firefighter with over 16 years of dedicated service. Sean’s commitment to fostering equitable opportunities for children of color has made him a transformative leader across Connecticut and beyond.
Sean has developed impactful partnerships with New Haven Public Schools, Waterbury Public Schools, and Naugatuck Public Schools, working to ensure that underserved students receive the support they need to succeed. As the organizer of the Generationally Enhancing Males (GEM) Conference at Southern Connecticut State University, Sean has created a platform to empower young men of color, bridging gaps in mentorship, education, and opportunity.
Sean has delivered numerous keynote speeches, some of which include: 100 Men of Color Gala at the Bushnell Theatre in Hartford, CT & Eli Whitney Technical High School’s Graduation at Southern Connecticut State University.

He ran a Motivational speaking program spanning 2 weeks, with a series of engaging and interactive sessions delivered to students in six middle schools. (Troup School, Barnard School, Celentano School, Wexler Grant School, Fame School and Fair Haven School). The sessions were tailored to address the unique challenges and aspirations of middle school students, focusing on building resilience, self-confidence, goal-setting, and fostering a growth mindset. He has also participated in influential panels across Connecticut, including discussions at the State Capitol in Hartford, collaborating with legislators to advocate for the well-being of children and families.
Sean has been recognized for honoring students of color through initiatives such as the Ebenezer D. Bassett Emerging Scholar Award at Central Connecticut State University and partnerships with the Commission on Women, Children, Seniors, Equity, and Opportunity.
As the Board Chair for the National Parents Organization in Connecticut, Sean champions shared parenting legislation, and as a member of the Fatherhood Engagement Leadership Team Advisory Council, he collaborates with Connecticut’s Department of Children and Families to highlight the vital role of fathers in child development.
Sean holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, with a minor in Psychology, from Manhattanville College. His professional journey began as an Admissions Counselor, where he guided countless students through the college application process. He later transitioned into program development for an early childhood franchise, designing initiatives that taught children essential physical, emotional, and life skills.
